Tuna A La King
You just had a long day at the office or at home, driving your children to ballet, music lessons, soccer practice, etc... and you don't want to spend hours over a hot stove preparing dinner. I have a solution for you, a nutritious, tasty and easy to prepare dinner.
You will need:
2 or 3 cans of tuna, in water or oil
1 can of Campbell's Cream of Mushroom soup
1/4 cup of milk
2 tablespoons of dry, chopped onion
2 teaspoons of dry parsley
1/2 teaspoon of ground black pepper
12 grain bread slices, lightly toasted - 2 per serving OR toasted (frozen) waffles, these are quite good with the tuna
Salad ingredients:
1 romaine lettuce
1 large tomato sliced
your favourite salad dressing
How to:
In a 3 quart sauce pan, pour the contents of the soup can. Add the milk, mix. Add the onion, parsley and pepper, mix. Drain the liquid of 2 of your 3 tins of tuna and add to the soup and mix. Place on stove over low heat, stirring occasionally. Don't let it burn.
Place two slices of toast on each plate, pour one or two ladle fulls of your tuna/mushroom mix over the bread or waffles. Serve with a salad, your favourite beverage and presto.... dinner is served.
