Stainless Steel pots/pans cleaner

By pure coincidence I made a discovery while doing dishes.

I finished washing my china and used the porcelain cleaner to remove food stains from it - which keeps my white dishes white.  I always leave pots and pans to the very end but this time I forgot one on the stove top.   I was sanitizing my kitchen sink with a solution of Clorox bleach and water and started spraying it on the sink's stainless steel basins, stove and countertops and I accidentally sprayed the inside of the stainless steel pot which was stained with tomato sauce that had not washed off properly on a previous use.

To my surprise, when I went to wash it, I noticed the stains were beginning to fade, so I sprayed a little bit more Clorox bleach/water solution (about 60/40%).  A few minutes later, I washed the pot with dishwashing liquid; which I also dilute because it is too soapy; and the pot looked like new.     I have also tried Heinz vinegar alone or vinegar/water solutions but the first one worked better, plus I worry the acidity of vinegar might leach something harmful with it's combination with stainless steel, where as bleach is present in drinking water, swimming pools, kitchen faucets, etc. and no harm seems to come from it.
