Containers for your holiday baked goods
Attention coffee drinkers !!! Don't throw away those nice Folgers red and green coffee containers, save them, they are just the right colours and shape for holiday giving. We drink so much coffee at home that I already have enough of them for just about everyone I know.
Take the labels off, wash them and air them out to get rid of any lingering smells, maybe putting a little bit of sugar in them when storing them, will keep smells away. Store them and you will already have pretty and practical containers for when it is time to bake some of your favourite cookies any time of the year or during the Holidays for gift giving to family, friends, teachers, the postman, neighbours. You will save money by not having to purchase them and you will be recycling those plastics.
Use the smaller containers for the smaller sized cookies and the larger ones for goods like the nutty crescent rolls made with the Pillsbury ready to bake dough. This recipe is in this website. Make your own labels either by printing your creations from the computer or, you and your children can create original art work. You can find sticky labels at Sam's Warehouse, Walmart or Office Depot. You can also go to your local Dollar Tree and buy stickers for every Holiday in the year. And don't forget to wrap it in seasonal colour or print cellophane gathered at the top, tied with a nice ribbon.
People will appreciate the personal touch and the gesture of your baking something especially for them.
